for a Successful EventSAVANNAH, GA. – In February 2014, the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center (SITCC) chose the Georgia World Congress Center Authority to manage the facility. CCLD Networks was chosen to manage the internet and telecom services. The SITCC offers spectacular views of the Savannah River and has 330,000 square feet of prime meeting space. The exhibit floor has 100,000 square feet of exhibit space and the SITCC is a wonderful place for conventions, meetings or special events.
In anticipation of some highly technical shows in April 2014, the SITCC wanted the center to have a new wired and wireless network in place to ensure the attendees had a great technical experience at the center. CCLD Networks performed an installation on a very tight timeline scheduled after events that were taking place in late March at the SITCC. The installation was performed mainly after hours but was complete in time for the first event in April. Cisco hardware was installed throughout the facility and a Meru Networks wireless system was implemented to provide high quality wireless internet service. CCLD Networks installed Meru 832e model access points that will provide the center with 802.11ac technology as well as the standard 802.11a/b/g/n protocol. The first event on the new network was the American Physical Society and they mentioned after the show that it was one of their best meetings on the technical end that they had produced.
In addition, CCLD Networks will upgrade the phone system to a Mitel VOIP platform in the coming months. Also, CCLD Networks will provide network support for the internal employees of the SITCC.
