Fort Lauderdale Convention Center Expansion

CCLD Networks has partnered with the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center since 2008. Initially, CCLD Networks were contracted to provide the Internet connectivity for shows and events at the convention center. After a few years, the convention center staff partnered with CCLD Networks to provide telecom services and administrative IT support.

Thousands of users and events have come to Fort Lauderdale and many have left positive feedback with the networking service. Below are just a few of the more recent events that left feedback.

“Thanks for sending this. I didn’t hear one single complaint about the internet while we were there. So thank you for that. Carlos, nice to see you again. Thanks for everything!”
– American Physical Society

“This was my 7th citywide convention (first in Fort Lauderdale) and I just want to say that hands down, CCLD was the best telecomm company I have worked with. Carlos was exceptional, and I know the support he received from his team while he was taking my requests onsite was a big part of his delivery as well – having responsive and invested partners is such a huge part of the success of my meetings, so I couldn’t let too much time pass without passing along by sincerest appreciation!! If you send a survey out to your clients, I’ll be sure to mention my experience there as well!”
– Society of Thoracic Surgeons

The convention center had the final event in February 2020 before it closed for remodeling. Below are a few of the highlights of the renovated center that is scheduled to be completed in late 2021.

  • 1.2 million square feet of meeting space including 350,000 square feet of contigous exhibit space.
  • A new 65,000 square foot ballroom facing the Intracoastal Waterway.
  • An additional 50,000 square feet of flexible meeting space to accommodate multiple events or convenient break-outs.

An 800 room Omni Hotel is also being built adjacent to the convention center as well as a new waterfront plaza.

“CCLD will continue to work with the staff of the BCCC to provide the best possible service. We believe the upgraded facilities will be a wonderful opportunity for the City of Fort Lauderdale and the BCCC to offer the best meeting space in the convention center industry. We are proud to be partners and we will strive to continue getting positive feedback from shows and events coming to South Florida.”
– Thomas Lloyd, CCLD Managing Director
